Shefali graduated with a bachelor's degree in Information technology from Sardar Patel Institute of Technology in 2005. During her engineering studies, she got the opportunity to work in music album and since then opted for this industry rather than the IT field. She did her schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School , Mumbai.

Shefali became famous for displaying a song in 2002 video album "Kaanta Laga". She became known as the "thorn girl". After "Kaanta Laga" she did about 10-15 music albums[citation needed]. She was seen in a cameo appearance in the 2004 film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi with Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. In 2012, she was seen in the reality show Nach Baliye 5 with her boyfriend. Currently she is in a reality show Bigg Boss
